I will offer my favorite cookie recipe (with options for different flavors), but you can use your own own recipe cookies to create our sweet valentines.

Ingredients for one baking sheet.

100 g butter(crush with a fork or chop with a knife)

100 g sugar

half a bag of baking powder (or soda slaked with vinegar). If you run out of vinegar, you can extinguish the soda with lemon, orange juice, i.e. any sour juice or jam, citric acid, diluted in a spoon of water, and even yogurt.

1 egg or 2 egg yolks, if Using the egg whites, you will want to make icing to decorate the cookies.

2 cups flour(this is approximately, depends on the size of the eggs and the flour itself)

Salt.

Mix the dough from the above ingredients.

Divide the dough into 4 - 6 parts and add your favorites to each part. doping.

For chocolate cookies– add 2 tablespoons of cocoa to the dough and knead well.

For fragrant cookies– add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and knead too.

For gingerbread cookies – add 0.5 teaspoon each of ground ginger and nutmeg and 1 tablespoon of honey.

For the lemon cookies– grate the lemon, only the skin, and add the resulting lemon zest to the cookies, you can also add the lemon juice itself. And knead the dough well.

For the nut cookies– add chopped peanuts, hazelnuts or walnuts in a coffee grinder.

For the coconut cookies– pour 2-5 tablespoons of coconut flakes into the dough. Knead well.

When our additive is evenly distributed throughout the entire dough mass. Every lump of dough is needed Wrap in plastic and put in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

Chilled dough roll out on the table sprinkled with flour and cut out hearts with a mold. If you (like me) don’t have heart molds, you can cut out hearts from regular cardboard and, placing them on the dough, trace them with a knife - I’ve already gotten the hang of it, and in 15 minutes I cut out a whole baking sheet of hearts.

Or you can cut regular round cookies into different sized shot glasses and then turn them into valentines by drawing hearts on them with icing.

Cut it out, put it on a baking sheet and put it in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, for 10-12 minutes.

Cookies bake very quickly, watch the time, as soon as it browns at the edges and turns yellow itself (do not wait until it turns brown), remove it immediately.

  • Preheat the oven, place the hearts on a baking sheet, bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.

Chocolate cookies “Hearts”

These cookies are more like a cake, made from a fairly liquid dough (like apple pie, charlotte), we don’t roll it out, but use special molds, for example, like these:

  • margarine or butter – 50-60 g;
  • egg – 1 pc.;
  • sugar – 0.5 cups;
  • salt - a small pinch;
  • thick kefir, fermented baked milk or sour cream – 150-200 g;
  • vanillin – 2 g sachet;
  • cocoa – 2 teaspoons;
  • starch – 1 tablespoon;
  • flour – 150 – 200 g (the dough should turn out like very thick sour cream)

The recipe for “Hearts” cookies can be anything. Someone remembers the old waffle iron that they got from their parents, while others think about a wonderful table decoration for Valentine's Day. Heart-shaped cookies can be prepared according to any recipe, simply giving the necessary shape. But there are also recipes that are ideal for this option. Below are different recipes, both for baking in the oven and using a waffle iron. However, they are equally tasty and do not require much time or effort.

What are heart-shaped cookies good for?

The most common use for Heart cookies is decoration. festive table. It can be used both at a wedding and its anniversary. Also, thanks to this shape, cookies can become a decoration for Valentine's Day, since this particular holiday is associated with hearts.

The second option would be a gift for a loved one. “Heart” cookies, especially if decorated with icing or beautiful sprinkles, can be an addition to any gift. Of course, it needs to look beautiful. However, even the fact that it is made with love can turn this delicacy into something special.

And the third option is associated with a device such as a waffle iron. It’s no secret that “Heart” cookies have been made in a waffle iron since Soviet times. Many people have an old form in which they had to cook on gas. Now there are electric molds and waffle irons on sale, thanks to them the fashion for this pastry has revived again. However, many people successfully use old forms, which does not make the taste of the baked goods worse.

Chocolate cookies for Valentine's Day. Ingredients

To make Heart cookies, you will need a special mold that allows you to cut out figures from the dough. You can buy it at a kitchenware store.

For the test you will need:

  • 200 grams of butter, it must first be warmed at room temperature within thirty minutes;
  • zest of one lemon;
  • 450 grams of flour, preferably wheat;
  • 3 chicken eggs medium size;
  • 100 grams of granulated sugar.

For the glaze you need one hundred grams of white and dark chocolate without any additives. You can also choose a dairy option.

Chocolate cookies: preparation

Pre-seasoned butter must be kneaded. Then beat it with a mixer at medium speed. Without ceasing to stir, add lemon zest to the oil, beat in the eggs one at a time.

After the mass becomes homogeneous, you can add granulated sugar, and then flour. If you pour it in a little at a time, you can quickly get rid of lumps and get a homogeneous mass. In the end, the mixer may no longer be necessary, since the stiff dough can be kneaded by hand. The finished product should be placed in the refrigerator for thirty minutes to cool.

After the Heart cookie dough has cooled, you need to roll it out. Use a mold to cut out hearts. They are placed on a baking sheet greased with oil. Cookies should be baked at a temperature of one hundred and fifty degrees until it turns golden brown.

When the cookies are ready, dip them in chocolate. Previously, white and black are melted separately in a water bath. That is, a row of cookies turns white, and a row turns black. If desired, the finished delicacy can be rolled in coconut flakes. To allow the glaze to harden, place the cookies in the refrigerator.

Shortbread. Recipe

You can also make shortbread cookies in the shape of a heart. For it you need:

  • 200 grams of butter;
  • 2 cups wheat flour;
  • a glass of powdered sugar;
  • two tablespoons of vanilla sugar (can be replaced with vanilla);
  • one egg;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • zest of half an orange.

According to this recipe, the photos of “Hearts” cookies look quite appetizing. To do this, after preparing the main product, it is better to take care of decorating the cookies.

First of all, pour out the flour and powdered sugar, thoroughly mixing these two ingredients together. Salt, vanilla sugar and orange zest are also added here. The mixture is laid out on a board, a hole is made in it, where the egg is broken. Butter cut into pieces and placed around the edges. Using a knife, chop and mix the mixture. The result is dough that should not stick to your hands or knife. If this does not happen, you can add flour.

The finished dough is divided into small balls, each of which is covered with a clean napkin and left in the cold for one hour. This will help the butter “set” the dough.

Shortbread. Preparation

Sprinkle on the board small quantity flour. They sprinkle it on the rolling pin. The first ball is rolled out to a thickness of two to three centimeters. If you want the cookies to look like gingerbread, then add up to five centimeters in thickness. A thinner treat will have a crunchier feel.

Then the cookies are cut out with a special heart-shaped shape. You can also try to cut out the desired outline with a knife yourself. You can put a little flour on a baking sheet. There is no need to lubricate it with oil, since there is already enough of it in the dough.

The top of the cookies is brushed with egg white. It cooks quickly, at a temperature of 220 degrees. Once the batch is browned, it is removed.

To prepare these cookies, you can use either a modern electric waffle iron or an old version that was inherited from relatives. It turns out equally delicious.

It requires:

  • 3.5 cups flour;
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder;
  • six medium-sized eggs;
  • 200 grams of margarine;
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar.

Also, when baking the first batch of cookies, you may need vegetable oil to grease the mold.

The recipe for “Heart” cookies in a waffle tin is quite simple. The eggs are beaten into a deep bowl, and granulated sugar is added to them. Beat the resulting mixture with a mixer until foam forms. The margarine is grated immediately from the refrigerator and added to the resulting mixture.

Flour and baking powder are thoroughly mixed in a separate bowl, and then, without ceasing to stir, add little by little into the liquid. The consistency of the dough becomes similar to curd mass.

The finished dough is laid out on a heated form. The first batch may turn out uneven, but later it becomes clear how much dough you need to put in to make the cookies complete. They bake for about three minutes, depending on the power of the waffle iron. The option in which cooking takes place on the stove assumes that the mold will be turned over.
