How to make strawberry lemonade with basil

  1. Wash the basil and shake off any drops of water. Separate the leaves of the plant from the stems and place them in a blender bowl.
  2. We pick the green “tails” from the washed strawberries. If the berry is large, cut it into 2 parts, then add it to the basil. To make lemonade, you don’t need to choose the most beautiful strawberries - slightly crushed ones will do, because in the end we will turn them into puree anyway. But in any case, be sure to sort out the berries and prevent spoiled, rotten or unripe specimens from getting into the drink.
  3. Turn on the blender and grind the contents of the bowl. It is not necessary to achieve perfect uniformity - it’s okay if some basil remains in the total mass.
  4. Transfer the strawberry-basil puree into a heat-resistant bowl and pour in a liter of boiling water.
  5. Add sugar to the hot liquid and stir. The dosage depends on the natural sweetness of the berries and how sweet you want the lemonade to be. For moderate sweetness and a refreshing taste, 4 tbsp is enough. spoons, for a sweeter option the portion can be increased.
  6. Squeeze the juice out of half a lemon using a juicer - we need 2-3 tbsp. spoons. For now, put the citrus juice aside and add the peel to the hot drink. Cover the dish with a lid and let the liquid cool completely.
  7. Strain the cooled drink through a sieve, maybe twice. We get rid of the lemon peel, particles of berries and basil. Add lemon juice to the strained mixture.
  8. Before serving, place the strawberry lemonade in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. To make the drink more attractive in appearance, add a few slices of strawberries and a couple of fresh basil leaves. If desired, add ice cubes to further cool the liquid and quench your thirst.

Homemade strawberry lemonade

You can make strawberry lemonade even out of season using frozen berries.

Ingredients:

Preparation

Place the first three ingredients in a high-speed blender and dilute the finished berry puree with water. The finished drink is quite chilled due to the use of frozen berries, but you can add additional ice if desired.

First of all, let's prepare the fruits and berries. We will use the lemons with the peel, so we will wash them thoroughly with a brush. Cut the lemons into large slices.
Wash the strawberries and remove the stems. If the berries are large, cut them in half.

Place the berries and fruits in a blender. Grind until smooth.

So that the pulp and pieces of lemon do not distract us from the taste of lemonade, they need to be removed from the total mass. To do this, use a sieve or colander with small holes.
Grind thoroughly to obtain a berry mass of medium thickness, without pieces.

At the end of this procedure, pour a little water into the ungrated part and wash out all the precious juices.
Dilute the strawberry-lemon juice with purified water.

Taste the liquid. If the strawberries are sweet enough and you don't really like sweet drinks, you can leave everything as is.
Otherwise, adjust to taste with honey or sugar, up to your preference.
Add ice to the pitcher of lemonade and stir.
I would like to add that in a similar way you can make lemonade from frozen strawberries without defrosting. Then you won't need ice!

Of course, the lemonade must be sufficiently chilled. Pour it into glasses and garnish with mint leaves.
Be prepared that your friends, having tried this drink once, will definitely ask for the recipe. After all, now you know how to make strawberry lemonade!

Most often I make classic lemonade (from lemons, oranges and mint), but since we are in the midst of strawberry season, I suggest replacing the oranges with strawberries. The taste will not be so sharp and rich, but more subtle, at the same time, this lemonade perfectly quenches thirst.

The ingredients for the drink can be taken in any quantity. I wrote a basic version of the recipe, but every housewife can add lemons, strawberries or sugar to her taste. Homemade strawberry lemonade is also good because it is very easy to regulate the acidity, sweetness and richness of the drink.

First we need to boil the syrup. Pour about one glass of plain water into a small saucepan, wait until the water boils, then dissolve all the sugar for lemonade in boiling water. The syrup is ready. By the way, I often cook for my mother, who is sick. diabetes mellitus, this strawberry lemonade - I just use a sugar substitute. The whole process is the same, but you need to take into account that the sweetener adds bitterness to the taste of the drink.

The syrup is cooked, we need to prepare the lemons. Wash citrus fruits thoroughly and cut into arbitrary slices (under no circumstances should lemons be peeled!). I immediately throw the sliced lemons into the decanter in which the future lemonade will be. Lemons need to be poured with hot syrup. This procedure is very important, because by scalding lemons, we practically eliminate the bitterness of the lemon zest. And at the same time we combine two polar tastes: the acidity of lemon and the sweetness of sugar.

While the lemons covered in syrup are cooling, we will prepare the strawberries. The berries must be washed thoroughly under running water, especially paying attention so that no grains of sand or earth remain. Now you need to cut the strawberries. I don’t like it when whole strawberries are thrown into lemonade; then they don’t give off their flavor and are more of a decoration than a full-fledged ingredient.

On the other hand, I never chop the berries finely, because then my son calls the strawberry lemonade “shaggy” and urgently demands to strain it. So, I usually choose the golden mean: I cut the strawberries into large slices.

All that remains is to prepare the mint. You can use any variety: classic mint, lemon balm or catnip. In any case, it will be delicious. True, the quantity will need to be adjusted to your taste. You can put a lot of mint and there will be a hint of a mojito, or you can take just a few leaves to add a hint of flavor.

I fell in love with mint not so long ago, so I put it carefully, using small quantity whole leaves. But for my mother - a big lover of mint flavor - I crush the mint in my hands and only then throw it into the lemonade. After rubbing, mint smells incredibly fragrant, releasing all its essential oils.

So, the syrup has already cooled down enough. Add mint and strawberries to the carafe. Fill everything with prepared water (chilled boiled, filtered, mineral, carbonated - choose to your taste!), mix. You should definitely try the lemonade. Then you can easily adjust the amount of sugar and water.
